What is CDPAP
A Consumer Directed Personal Assistant Program is a Medicaid program that helps seniors and people with disabilities live in their own homes by providing funding for in-home support services. The program gives consumers more control over their own care by allowing them to choose their own caregivers and schedule their own care. This program can help people stay in their homes longer, avoid nursing home placement, and maintain their independence.
The consumer is responsible for:
- Hiring Personal Assistant
- Personal Assistant scheduling
- Finding backup Personal Assistant
- Reporting to the agency (M&N Homecare) if there is any change
The agency is responsible for:
- Confirming all Personal Assistants' time sheets & hours worked
- Completing all Personal Assistants' paperwork
- Maintaining agency - MLTC (Insurance) relations
- Paying Personal Assistants with paychecks
The Consumer Is Responsible For:
- Hiring personal assistant.
- Personal assistant scheduling.
- Finding backup Personal Assistan
- Reporting to the agency (M&N HOMECARE ) if there is any change.
The Agency Is Responsible For:
- Confirming all personal assistant time sheets' hours worked
- Completing all personal assistant paperwork
